Eastwood Men’s Raccoon Hunt 2012

If you had any doubt that you lived in The South, let’s erase it with our next Men’s Fellowship event. The Men of Eastwood are planning a Raccoon Hunt!
In the first of (Lord willing) many, Matt Phillips is hosting a ‘Coon Hunt at his family land in Wetumpka on Friday, February 24, 2012, from 6 PM to about 10 PM. Those who know coon hunting know that the dogs are the stars, and the Phillips have arranged for some Grade A coon dogs to come in from Mississippi.

You won’t need a gun, but wear clothes that can stand up to some mud, woods, and fun. Bring your own chairs, etc, and plan on a bonfire and great fellowship.

Eastwood Amazon Mission Spaghetti Fundraiser 2012

We are sure you have heard of this summer’s mission trip to the Amazon. Eastwood Church has been blessed to have sent missions teams there in the past and were are pleased to announce that that they are returning for 2012!
Once again Elder Jay Hinton is leading the team. One big way that you can be involved is to support the team by coming to the spaghetti lunch on Sunday, February 26, 2012, after the morning worship service. Eastwood Missions Conference Schedule

We thought we you might like this quick rundown of the schedule for Eastwood Church’s upcoming Missions Conference.
As you may know, our annual Missions Conference is an annual highlight of the church life here at Eastwood, and is sponsored by the Missions Team. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer this year, please contact Elder Tommy James by calling the church office or emailing him at tjamestown@gmail.com.
This year the speaker is Bill Bradford is our main speaker.
Wednesday, February 29: Wednesday night supper- Chik-Fil-A night, 5:30-7:15 (donations accepted.)
Friday March 2: International Dinner, Cost $7:00 (no more than $20.00 per family) lines open at 5:30
Saturday March 3: 7:30 Men’s breakfast
Saturday March 3: 10:00 Ladies brunch
Saturday March 3: Mission banquet – Seating starts @ 5:30
Sunday March 4: 9:40 Sunday School with the missionaries (for first grade through adult)
11:55 Worship concluded with Faith Promise

Join Us For Mommy Bootcamp

All moms with preschool children and younger are invited to join us for Mommy Bootcamp Saturday, January 28th, 2012.
Date: January 28th, 2012
Time: 9am-12pm
Place: Eastwood Presbyterian Church, The Fellowship Hall
Cost: $10 per person
Hungry? Breakfast and Lunch are provided.
Three topics that we plan to cover, and the teachers, are:
Biblical Discipline – Brenda Payne
Creative Family Times – Lauren Hixon
Teaching your Children Hospitality / Preciousness of Others – Tiffany Higginbotham
Please make arrangements for your children – there will be no nursery / childcare provided. Here’s a great chance for the dads to pitch in and help!
Look for opportunities over the next three Sundays to sign up at church. Please invite your friends & neighbors, we would love for this to be an outreach event.

Worship Schedule For January 1, 2012

Please remember that our worship schedule for Sunday, January 1, 2012, will be similar to Christmas Day in that we will have NO Sunday School, and morning worship will be changed to 10:00 AM.

Eastwood’s Lou Priolo Travels To Brazil

The Lord has blessed Eastwood Presbyterian Church with a wonderful Biblical Counseling Center. The staff members spend countless hours caring for not only the flock of Eastwood, but also non church members who desire Godly counseling.
Lou Priolo is the Director of the Counseling Center. This past Sunday, Lou made an exciting announcement at the Morning Worship service!
Lou will be traveling to Goiania, Brazil, this week to participate in a conference for Presbyterian pastors. Click here for more information about the conference. His messages will be both polemical and practical. This is a wonderful opportunity to influence the Brazilian culture for Christ.
Please pray for Lou and the attendees of this conference. Here are the topics he will be covering and the times (Goiania is three hours ahead of Alabama) he will be speaking.
