The Apostle Paul spoke of the teaching ministry of the church in Ephesians 4:12 as existing “to equip the saints for the work of ministry for building up the body of Christ.” At Eastwood, we are committed to using the Sunday School hour to accomplish this goal. We offer a variety of classes throughout the calendar year taught in an elective format. We try to teach surveys of both Old and New Testament books every quarter. We typically alternate between an Old and New Testament book. The Summer quarter is usually a combined adult class and the material varies. In addition throughout the year, we offer studies in systematic theology, church history, practical studies, and basic Christianity. Sunday School starts at 9:15 AM. We would love for you to join us. Our current offerings are:
Spring Quarter: April – June
-FHB/Evangelism & Discipleship/ led by Pastor Billy Joseph: Billy spent over 25 years as an RUF minister. That means 25 years of focusing on evangelism and discipleship. If anyone is an expert on the topic, it’s Billy Joseph.
–Fellowship Hall/ Know the Creeds and Councils by Justin S. Holcomb/Teacher TBA: We live in a day when the language, history and truth of biblical Christianity are all being attacked and “cancelled.” But there is a reason Christians have always believed certain truths, and there is good reason to still believe them today! As a survey of Christian creeds and confessions in their historical and theological context, this class is an opportunity to become familiar with the foundational truths of biblical Christianity and be reminded why we should still believe them today. Teacher TBA.
Summer Quarter: July – September
Fall Quarter: October – December
